The Ports of Auckland have been issued notification of strike action. The Port of Auckland Managing Director commented that the action was unwarranted & unnecessary. The union has agreed to a collective employment agreement meeting since issuing the strike action notice.
The proposed strike is due to take place from 12 noon on Friday 05 June (4 1/2hrs). It should be noted that Port of Aucklands general wharves, Port of Onehunga and marine services are not directly affected.
